The Rev. Matthew McCaffrey is a native of Vermont who has lived in Connecticut for most of his ministry. Rev Matt received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Mass.
“Rev Matt” has assisted a wide range of Connecticut churches through the process of transition, from small rural congregations through large urban settings. Transitional ministry means change, and he is comfortable with change even as he recognizes the stress it places on systems and people.
Rev Matt has a wide range of interests, from “computer whispering” to baseball, and enjoys making music and writing. He lives in Cheshire with his spouse Alison (also an ordained United Church of Christ minister, and Associate Minister of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire), and their Shetland Sheepdogs Fiona and Ainsley. Rev Matt’s two daughters, Hannah and Sara, live in northern New York. Revs. Alison and Matt have eight grandchildren.
